The verification process and the documentsrequired when purchasing:

  • The Premium EV SSL certificate (or its MultiDomain option)

In case of the Premium EV SSL certificate (or MultiDomain option), the Subscriber's identity is verified in accordance with the Guidelines For The Issuance And Management Of Extended Validation Certificates.

A condition for the issuance of the Premium EV SSL certificate is the successful confirmation by the Subscriber of his/her authority over the certified domain and positive verification of the Subscriber's identity, which will be carried out by the CERTUM Team. On the part of the ordering party, it is required to provide CERTUM with all the information necessary for concluding the process of obtaining the certificate.

In order to carry out verification of the e-mail address and domain, there is ONE out of THREE available verification methods:

For each of the above-mentioned methods you will receive a message from CERTUM containing all data needed to perform verification and the special activation link that must be used after applying the required changes in the certified domain. The domain will be automatically verified, of which you will be informed in a special message.

In order to verify the Subscriber's identity, CERTUM requires delivery of copies of the following documents within 7 days:

    • ID card (identity card, passport, permanent residence card, driving license) of the person filing a certification application. The copy should depict the entire document (both sides)
    • authorisation or power of attorney confirming the relationship of the person ordering the certificate with the organization – only when the applicant doesn’t appear in the relevant registry as a person authorized to represent the company
    • company registration documents - only in the case where the company doesn’t possess the DUNS number (it’s impossible to verify the company by using this number or by using national registration number)
    • copy of a bill paid for the domain or statement by the domain owner about the exclusive right vested in the Subscriber to use the domain name - only in the case where the domain is not registered in the WHOIS database or the information contained therein shows that the Subscriber is not the domain owner,

    Attention!

The applicant must be associated with the certified organization!

an example of the verification of the domains included in the certificate.
Premium EV, Trusted SSL, SSL Commercial SSL:
an example of the verification of the domain included in the certificate.
    Example
    1. your-domain.pl

In the CN field (Common Name) in the certificate in the first position there is the domain: your-domain.pl.

In this example only one domain is verified: your-domain.pl..

Attention: In the case of issuing a certificate for the domain www.your-domain.pl - the certificate automatically generates an alternative name for the domain (name of the host) without www e.g.: your-domain.pl.

    The Wildcard SSL certificate option
an example of the verification of a domain included in the certificate.
    Example
    1. *.your-domain.pl

OThe Wildcard SSL option is designed to protect subdomains within a single-level main domain (name of the host) as defined by the customer.

An example of the usage of the Wildcard certificate option

      • your-domain.pl
      • www.your-domain.pl
      • mail.your-domain.pl
      • ftp.your-domain.pl
      • 1.your-domain.pl
      • 2.your-domain.pl
      • 3.your-domain.pl
      • 4.your-domain.pl

In the CN field (Common Name) in the certificate in the first position there is the domain *.your-domain.pl.

In this example only one domain is verified *.your-domain.pl.

Attention:The Wildcard certificate option automatically creates the alternative domain name (name of the host):

    • your-domain.pl
    • *. your-domain.pl

Additionally the Wildcard certificate option does not automatically add www to the name of the domain (name of the host).

    The MultiDomain certificate option:
an example of the verification of the domains included in the certificate.
    Example 1 - (a single domain)
    1. 1. your-domain.pl
    2. 2. www.your-domain.pl
    3. 3. store.your-domain.pl
    4. 4. mail.your-domain.pl
    5. 5. 1.your-domain.pl
    6. 6. 2.your-domain.pl
    7. 7. 3.your-domain.pl
    8. 8. 4.your-domain.pl
    9. 9. 5.your-domain.pl
    10. 10. 6.your-domain.pl

WIn the CN field (Common Name) in the certificate in the first position there is the domain:your-domain.pl. The remaining names will be included in the ASN field (Alternative Subject Name).

In this case the verification is done only for the first domain: your-domain.pl. The subdomains included in the main domain do not require additional verification.

Attention: The MultiDomain option of the certificate does not automatically add www to the name of the domain (name of the host).

    Example 2 - (multiple domains)
    1. 1. your-domain.pl
    2. 2. www.your-domain.pl
    3. 3. store.your-domain.pl
    4. 4. mail.your-domain.pl
    5. 5. 1.your-domain.pl
    6. 6. your-second-domain.pl
    7. 7. www.your-second-domain.pl
    8. 8. store.your-second-domain.pl
    9. 9. mail.your-second-domain.pl
    10. 10. 1.your-second-domain.pl

WIn the CN field (Common Name) in the certificate in the first position there is the domain:your-domain.pl. The remaining names will be included in the ASN field (Alternative Subject Name).

In this example two domains are verified: your-domain.pl and your-second-domain.pl.The subdomains included in the main domain do not require additional verification.

Attention: The MultiDomain option of the certificate does not automatically add www to the name of the domain (name of the host).
