Time Stamp service is used to mark a certified date without the necessity to produce legal consequences in terms of the Civil Code. This service facilitates marking electronic documents, electronic signatures, electronic transactions, etc. with a reliable time. The time with which a document is signed is not connected to the system time (of a workstation, or a server) but it comes from a source - a Trusted Third Party. Time Stamp service is most often used when electronic signatures are affixed with the use of private certificates.

Technical requirements
In order to use the Time Stamp, it is necessary to have an application generating an SHA1 summary of a document which is to be marked with time.
Time Stamp service is available as:
- standard Time Stamp
- standard Time Stamp for code signing (Authenticode)
- qualified Time Stamp (qualified Time Stamp is a method of dating electronic documents and signatures which in terms of the Civil Code produces legal consequences of a certified date)
